Redressing the Balance

Indoor Market of Local Crafts and Delights

On Saturday, 7th December 2024, 11am – 4pm, is the Global Challenge Christmas Craft Fair. We have 20 stalls signed up, with a variety of handmade goods plus crafts made by a local special needs school. We boast a fantastic raffle/tombola, mulled wine, live music from Kirsty Sings and we are even hoping to have a visit from Father Christmas! Our extremely generous friends at The Dog in Wingham, have donated a night for two in a King Size room followed by a hearty breakfast the next morning! To be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize, we will be holding a “Silent Auction”. Come to the fair and place your bid in an envelope provided. The auction will close at the end of the fair and the highest bidder will win the night’s stay! The venue houses a café (open from 10 – 2pm) and accessible toilet facilities.

Global Challenge is run by volunteer trustees in the UK who work closely with charity coordinators and volunteers in Uganda, running practical projects that help the community. All funds raised will be used to support projects, including funding school staff and meals, introducing livestock schemes, delivering teacher training, providing sanitary products and underwear and working with highly qualified professionals to deliver medical clinics in the Soroti region of Uganda.

Here are a few photos of the work we do:

We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
