Laptop Donation for Crossroads
Trustee Tracey had a day out to Maidstone to collect a laptop! Computers4Charity have kindly donated another laptop for Global Challenge to take out to Uganda on our next visit!
Global Challenge is extremely grateful for this donation from Computers 4 Charity as it will go towards building up a computer lab for the school and enable the school to work towards offering IT as a core subject.
Our work with Crossroads Secondary School in Soroti, Uganda, provides education for over 300 children who would otherwise find it difficult to obtain an education. The school has a team of full and part-time teachers who are fully funded by Global Challenge. This enables the school to function and reduces the fees for pupils. Global Challenge also provides a lunch for all pupils who attend the school and has funded the development of the kitchen, as well as other infrastructure at the school. Furthermore, Global Challenge supports the school through staff training during visits by teams from the UK and encouraging links with other local schools and education providers in the UK.
The laptop will go out with the next trustee visit scheduled for October 2025.
(We were also able to donate four old laptops to Computer4Charity that we hope the charity will be able to recondition or use for parts.)
