The Wonders of Wayfaring!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to support the Wayfaring gig.
On a stifling Saturday night, over 100 music and poetry lovers were welcomed into the air-conditioned auditorium of Queens Road Baptist Church in Broadstairs. Ambient lighting, refreshments a plenty and a space packed out with café style tables met the inquisitive public. The stage was set with a plethora of guitars (did I count six?) and a music stand balancing a tome containing 25 songs/poems/writings from the brilliant mind of Matthewman.
Affectionately referring to themselves as “Pam Ayers meets ZZ Top” (photos have been included at the end of this post for you to compare!), Chris and Brian regaled us with songs, anecdotes and banter that, only a month ago, were just an embryo in the minds of these two creative geniuses…marvellous!
Brian described the gig as: “25 songs, 6 guitars, 1 Djembe, a stomp box, a ridiculous beard and a skinny northern bloke in a flat cap! How could this not be something you’d want to see!!!” (Chris is not convinced he’s “northern”, coming from Northampton, although to us East Kent folk, that is “northern “!!!)
Around £1100 was raised on the night! Thank you!!!
A Taster…
