Linda McCann treats us to another of her fascinating talks…this time recommended for the broad minded!

Linda will entertain us with recollections of shows gone by, costume disasters and triumphs, and working with “the stars” as their personal dresser.

As before, Linda will bring along an array of costumes and accessories to highlight and demonstrate just what goes into designing and making anything and everything involved in costuming a show, play, pageant etc. This time, however, she will also divulge personal stories of dealing with delicate stars and truculent directors. You’ll have a chance to ask your burning questions about stage and screen as well as the obligatory photo opportunity wearing any costume that takes your fancy.

About LINDA McCANN

Linda has been involved in wardrobe and costuming for over 4 decades. Currently Wardrobe Mistress for Herne Bay Musical Theatre Society, Canterbury Operatic Society, Theatrecraft and various local drama groups and schools. 

A tutor in theatrical costuming for the National Operatic and Drama Association International summer schools.

Wardrobe Mistress for amateur productions at The Marlowe Theatre Canterbury, Gulbenkian University of Kent and The Kings Hall Herne Bay. 

Personal dresser to touring professional productions at The Marlowe Theatre Canterbury and The Winter Gardens Margate.

The only twice winner of The Bamford Cup for Services to the Living Theatre and award winning costumer of plays for the Kent Drama Association.

Designed and made costumes for the SE entry of National Operatic & Dramatic Assoc. Centenary at Royal Albert Hall.

Linda is currently working at University of Kent cataloguing and maintaining The Gulbenkian wardrobe collection.

Last November 2023, she wowed us with her funny stories, knowledge of, and passion for all things pantomime.  We were then able to try on her vast selection of panto costumes and accessories from numerous shows.
