Prosthetic Operations

Recently, we very pleased to be in a position to pay for several amputees to have prosthetic limbs fitted. All of the beneficiaries had limbs lost due to disease or accident, rather than being born without the limb.

Here we have some of the beneficiaries:

Here is Paul standing for the first time in seven years! Paul was involved in an accident age five in which he lost his leg.

Here is Paul going through some physiotherapy as his muscles are very weak; due to not being used for so long.

We had one further lady, Ijaku, who was unfortunately not able to have her prosthetic fitted as planned due to a burn she received on her normal limb from a motorbike exhaust. As she is diabetic, it was decided she would be better to return to Soroti to recover fully before going ahead with the procedure. We hope that she will recover quickly!
