The Beginning of the Livestock Project

The ‘Livestock Project’ is a project close to our hearts at GC and QRBC and  has been through many trials and tribulations since it the idea was first conceived.

The project initially started because of the activities of the Karamajong, a tribe who believe that all cattle belong to them and therefore carry out atrocities to retrieve ‘their’ herds, making milk very expensive to buy across Uganda, Sudan and Kenya. This led to much poverty.

In 2004 young people at Queens Road Baptist Church decided to help by raising money to buy livestock. Ladies from the QRBC fitness group later got involved, and the project became known as the ‘Keep Fit Cow Project’
