Wellie Walk!
On Friday the 7th of October, Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School Ramsgate, took part in their own sponsored Wellie Walk to raise funds for Global Challenge.
The different classes walked different routes and together they raised a fantastic £310.61 which is enough to feed all the children at Crossroads school for nearly three weeks!
Trustee John Rew was invited to collect the cheque from Headmaster David Haughton at a school assembly on the 15th November.
John was delighted to be able to share what the money would mean for the children at Crossroads; ‘Lunch is the same every day at most schools everywhere in the country – posho and beans. It’s really filling and most children at Crossroads get very little else to eat until the next lunchtime at school because of their poor backgrounds. Posho is maize flour (like cornflour), hot water is added and after lots of stirring it takes on a very thick consistency. The sauce is beans, onions, tomatoes and spices, all heated up to make an appetising meal!’
Thank you everyone at Holy Trinity for all your hard work!
