Redressing the Balance

Easter Sunday Tributes

During the Easter Sunday Celebration Service on 4th April 2021 at Queens Road Baptist Church, Rev. Dr Stephen Cave gave two lovely tributes to two members of our Global Challenge family:

“One of our precious little girls in Uganda passed way this week. Her name is Rose. She was somebody that a lot of the team who went out to Uganda spent a lot of time with. She was much loved and she brought so much joy to all those who were able to play with her and have fun with her when we were out there in her village and at her home. Her family inspired us to open up a project, a livestock project, and they were one of the first recipients of that and that was able to sustain both Rose and the family. And so this morning we join with our family in Uganda in Soroti as we mourn the loss of somebody so special and precious, someone who touched our lives. We do that with the deep sense that she is now with Jesus.

June Henderson sadly passed away. June loved the people of Uganda. She spent an awful lot of time stitching together blankets and there are many children and families in the huts in Uganda today who have blankets at night because of what June did. So we’re so glad that she has shared life with us and blessed us in that particular way.

So in the midst of all that, on this Resurrection Day, we again declare our belief that death is not the end, but the beginning of a new chapter. That our friends are now in the presence of Jesus.”
