Priscilla’s Gift

Priscilla, one of our partners in Uganda, was able to do some amazing work, for many years, looking after one of the special needs children Global Challenge supported. Unfortunatley, Mark passed away earlier this year. Not only an upsetting and challenging time for Mark’s family, but also for Priscilla as her caring role was her main source of income. Mark’s gorgeous mother, Jane, worried about this lack of income, decided to step in and help. Jane and others in Uganda managed to raise half the amount needed for Priscilla, who has an interest in design, to attend a tailoring course. Global Challenge received a donation towards an ‘income generating project’ and passed this on so that the rest of Priscilla’s course fees could be met, with enough left over to purchase a sewing machine. Priscilla is now aquiring the skills to generate her own income to support herself and her Mother.
