Redressing the Balance

St Francis School for the Blind

Through our Special Needs Project Co-ordinator, Billy, Global Challenge has established links with St Francis School for the Blind.

In 2007 Global Challenge presented the school with a braille machine.

The Trustees were warmly welcomed to the school again by Sister Mary Kevin in 2011 and gave the pupils a gift of braille paper. The pupils sung beautifully. The children seemed so happy and well cared for, despite having other disabilities.

St Josephs Convent School in Broadstairs and Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church have generously funded in 2012, a brailler repair kit and mathematics equipment for the school. These were presented by the Trustees in October, together with magnifying glasses kindly donated by Ruth Grigg.
