Jane is a volunteer supporting the Special Needs Project in Uganda. She works with families who are struggling with their special needs children.
As a result of our early work with Crossroads School, there was a growing awareness within the Global Challenge team that child disability and special education were areas of much need in Uganda.
Monday 3rd May marked the start of Deaf Awareness Week in the UK. We are proud to support students at Ngora School for the Deaf in Uganda, enabling them to receive good education and important life skills, such as tailoring and carpentry.

During the Easter Sunday Celebration Service on 4th April 2021 at Queens Road Baptist Church, Rev. Dr Stephen Cave gave two lovely tributes to two members of our Global Challenge family:
“One of our precious little girls in Uganda passed way this week.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Anabo Rose. She died of anaemia and was buried at 2pm this afternoon (Wednesday 31 March).
Billy Outeke, our Special Needs local representative in Uganda, sent us his report.

Sarah Hammond used her brilliant organisational skills to set up and run a coffee morning at Cleveland House. She and her team raised £50 for the students at Ngora school.
To mark International Women’s Day 2021, we would like to celebrate the work and achievements of one of our Global Challenge volunteers, devoted to helping families in Soroti, Uganda.
Following the closure of schools because of the pandemic, Ngora school opened its gates again to welcome the return of the students.
