Redressing the Balance

Back to School

Please pray for students and staff as they return to Crossroads Secondary School in Soroti for a new academic year. There will be many challenges ahead but there is much appreciation for the extra support given from our supporters and friends in the UK, in response to recent appeals for staff salaries and school meals.

The Head Teacher at Crossroads, Robert, has returned after a complicated operation on his jaw. He tells us that the conditions for the pupils at Crossroads are not ideal for teaching the new Ugandan school curriculum. He also says that the teacher’s staff room “needs to be greatly improved”. Perhaps when the Trustees visit they can find out how Global Challenge might be able to help.

Four of the students Global Challenge supports outside Crossroads Secondary School should all be returning to their studies now. Paul, Peter and Joshua should be returning for S6 at Soroti Secondary School, and Benjamin to his mechanics diploma course at Uganda Technical College in Kichwamba. Ruth, our coordinator Abraham’s daughter, will be returning to complete her master’s degree in Social Work and Administration. May they all know the Lord’s strength, wisdom and peace as He equips them and leads them.
