Ugandan Certificate of Education results
The Ugandan school year ends at Christmas; These are the Ugandan Certificate of Education results for the Year 4 school leavers:
Class 4 students a few days before their final exams.
Many pupils come from very difficult backgrounds and staff have to take a very ‘holistic’ approach to their education and welfare. Absenteeism from pupils, particularly those in lodgings during the week, remains a problem. The proposed hostels are very much needed to protect these vulnerable young people.
Staff also reported that the very best students are ‘creamed off’ and sponsored to go to other high achieving schools. This is an added problem when it comes to looking at the statistics of examination results.
